Here, I will give a comprehensive overview of everything that is known about Julius. This will consist of a chronologic backstory, and a collection of all his in-game dialogue. I will limit myself to canon information, and things that can reasonably inferred from it. For more speculative theories, visit the interpretation and headcanons page! (I chose to include information about Kokoro Belmont, even though she is arguably not canon, because I like the implications that her existance has on the time between 1999 and 2035, since not much is known about that time.)
1979/1980: Julius is born as an heir to the Belmont family, who have fought against Dracula for centuries. His exact birthday is unknown (When is Julius' birthday?). It could be anywhere between the 2nd of september in 1979 and the 11th of august in 1980.
1995: Kokoro Belmont, who appears in the game Otomedius Excellent, is born. She is heavily implied to be Julius' younger sister.
1999: Julius is 19 years old when a solar eclipse occurs above europe. As predicted by Nostradamus, a war with dracula occurs. This event is refered to as the 1999 demon castle war, although it is never directly portrayed in any of the games. Julius, with assistance of Alucard, permanently defeats Dracula. Dracula's castle is sealed in the eclipse, and Julius seals the vampire killer in the castle to weaken it. For unknown reasons, Julius ends up in a hospital with amnesia, having forgotten everything that happened in his past, and even forgetting his own name. He is told he was in an accident, and nothing more.
2011: Kokoro Belmont is described as the rightful guardian of the Belmont clan. This implies that Julius is not able to hold that position at this time.
2035: At 55, Julius returns to Dracula's castle because of Nostradamus' prophecy that a new master would inherit Dracula's powers in 2035.There, he meets Soma, and tells him that the only thing he remembers from his past is that Dracula's name fills him with fear. He hopes to regain his memory by coming to the castle. He tells Soma that he has magical powers and that he is an exorcist who works for himself. That is the only thing we know about what his life might have been like between 1999 and 2035.
When he meets Soma again, his dark powers make him regain his memory and realises that it is his destiny to kill Dracula again if he returns. Soma tells him that Graham said he is Dracula's reincarnation, but Julius doubts this and suspects Soma might be Dracula instead. But he does not tell Soma and goes to find the vampire killer so he can use it to kill Graham in case he does turn out to be dracula.
After Soma defeats Graham and becomes Dracula, Julius finds him in the floating gardens and tries to kill him. But he holds back in the fight, because he senses Soma is still himself. Soma subdues him, but he spares his life and asks Julius to kill him if he becomes evil. Julius promises he will. If Soma loses to Chaos, Julius comes to the throne room to fight him and keep his promise. If Soma defeats Chaos, Julius congratulates him and tells him the vampire killers power faded away when he fled the castle. He says his farewell.
2036: A year after the events of Aria of Sorrow, Julius hears about Celia Fortners cult, who wish to find a new dark lord to replace Dracula. He goes to their headquarters with Yoko Belnades to investigate. He tries to defeat Celia's candidates, but fails. He also keeps an eye on Soma in case he succumbs to the darkness again and he has to intervene.
In the case of a good ending, Julius breaks the barrier closing off the Condemned tower, using up most of his energy in the process, but allowing Soma to pass through and defeat Menace. Afterwards, Julius and the rest welcome him back, congratulate him, and joke about him and Mina liking eachother.
In case of the bad ending, Julius partners with Yoko and Alucard to defeat Dark Lord Soma.
2037: Julius takes on an apprentice, Curtis Lang. This is described in the lightnovel ''Akumajō Dorakyura: Kabuchi no Tsuisōkyoku''. It was published in Japanese, but an english translation by Shiroi Koumori can be read here. To download a pdf version of this translation, click here.
